Em uma pequena cidade no sul do Brasil, Lidia passa seus dias vendo os outros trabalhando à sua volta e à noite sonha com tempos passados no cultivo do fumo, quando ainda conseguia andar. Junto com o resgate de sua história, conhecemos a vida de quatro outros plantadores de fumo. Guiados pela tradição, misticismo ou puro pragmatismo, eles vivem na linha tênue entre a luta e o amor à terra.

In a small town in Southern Brazil, Lidia spends her days watching others working around her and at night dreams of days past in the tobacco cultivation, when she was still able to walk. Along with her history, we get to know the lives of four other tobacco growers. Guided by tradition, mysticism or pure pragmatism, they live in the fine line between fighting and loving the land.

O DIRETOR | THE DIRECTOR
Marcelo Munhoz foi criador de projetos de formação e produção audiovisual reconhecidos nacionalmente, como o ‘Olho Vivo’, onde produziu e dirigiu mais de duas dezenas de curtas, o ‘Minha Vila Filmo Eu’, o ‘Núcleo de Audiovisual SESI PR’ e o projeto ‘Ficção Viva’. ‘A Grande Nuvem Cinza’ é seu primeiro longa-metragem como diretor.
Marcelo Munhoz is the creator of film development projects well recognized in Brazil: ‘Olho Vivo’ (where he produced more than two dozens of short films), ‘Minha Vila Filmo Eu’ (I Film My Own Village), ‘SESI-PR Script Development Center’ and the ‘Ficção Viva’ project. ‘The Great Grey Cloud’ is his first feature-length documentary.
